About Me

I’m a single father, a community organizer, and an unflinching Democrat.

I have served in the Washington State House of Representatives since 2020. As your representative, I strive to carry forward the core values that have kept me engaged in politics and public policy for two decades: building healthy and inclusive communities, planning for the future our children deserve, and working together for a more just and inclusive Washington State.

Past Experience

• Board Member of Kulshan Community Land Trust, including three years as President
• Author of Bellingham's first Local Climate Action Plan
• Founder of the Community Energy Challenge
• Energy and Policy Director for Sustainable Connections
• Whatcom Wins Co-Chair
• 2013 Environmental Hero Award, RE Sources for Sustainable Communities
• Climate Policy Advisor for Stand.earth
• Whatcom Climate Impacts Advisory Committee

What I stand for on key issues:

Climate change

I am committed to a rapid and just transition to a clean energy economy.

Affordable Housing

We are in a housing crisis. We need more homes that people can afford.

Healthcare for all

Healthcare is a basic human right and we must work diligently to make sure everyone in our community has the care they deserve.

Preventing gun violence

It's time for common sense policies that will save lives.

Rebuilding the economy

As we rebuild the economy, let’s put people first: living wages, training, and opportunities for everyone.
